Rebuild and repair kits for Ammco brake lathes, FMC, and other shop machines, grouped by assembly so you order one part number instead of chasing six. Guide bar kits, rotor feed repair kits, and boot and seal kits all live here.
Multi-piece adapter kit options built around 1" bore cones and bell clamps, sized for light truck and medium-duty work on hubless rotors. Sets run from four pieces up to six and cover hub ranges from roughly 3 7/8" to 6 1/2".
Buy for the machine you already own. Most truck sets and brake lathe adapters run a 1" bore, so confirm your arbor size, then pick the hub range you turn most weeks. If your bay sees both passenger car and light truck work, a wider cone set pays for itself faster than a single adapter, because you stop turning away jobs your current hardware cannot mount. Setup on an arbor brake lathe takes a minute. Wipe the arbor and mating faces clean, seat the automotive centering cone squarely in the center hole, and tighten the bell clamp evenly so the rotor runs true. A quick runout check with a dial indicator before the first cut saves you a comeback later. Upkeep is simple. Wipe brake lathe cones down after every job, store them so the tapered faces stay unmarked, and keep threads lightly oiled. Nicked or corroded faces are one of the most common causes of rotor pulsations after a resurface. Swap a carbide insert the moment your finish falls off, and retire any hubless adapter that wobbles. Ordering a full brake lathe adapter kit keeps a spare on the shelf and your lathe earning.

A brake lathe adapter set is the group of cones, clamps, spacers, and flange plates that mounts a rotor or drum to the lathe arbor. MT-RSR sells complete sets for passenger car and light truck hubless flat rotors (10010), light truck only (10012), and heavy truck (10013).
The Complete Adapter Set for Passenger Car and Light Truck Hubless Flat Rotors (SKU 10010) is built for shops servicing both. It combines flange plates and centering cones so one setup handles the majority of the vehicles rolling into a general repair bay.
A four-piece set typically pairs one 1" bore cone with two bell clamps, and larger sets add cones to widen the range. The Truck Set 5061, for example, includes a 4 1/2" to 5 1/2" cone plus two 7 3/4" diameter bell clamp pieces.
MT-RSR's Complete Adapter Set for Heavy Truck lists fitment for Ammco, Hunter, Accuturn, and Bosch machines. Confirm which brand lathe you run and the arbor bore before ordering, since the same hub range can require different mounting hardware.
A centering cone locates the rotor on the arbor by its center hole, while a bell clamp presses against the rotor face to hold it flat and square. Both are needed on hubless work, which is why they ship together in a cone set.
A quick chuck adapter speeds up mounting between jobs, and a spacer gives clearance when a rotor sits too close to the lathe body. MT-RSR stocks both under Brake Clamping alongside its brake lathe cones.
Yes. The heavy truck adapter kit (10013) and the 6.5" and 7.25" rotor hub flange plate options are made for hubless trucks in the heavy duty class. Both flange plates are made in the U.S.A.
Truck sets are built around hubless rotors, so check arbor and cone sizing on your machine before running a hubless drum. MT-RSR also stocks a 2 3/4" truck drum silencer band for quieter drum cuts.
Runout, a dirty mounting face, or a worn adapter are the usual causes. Silencer bands help by adding to the rotor mass and dampening chatter during the cut, and changing the rotor's mass this way often cleans up the finish without a second pass.
It depends on the machine. MT-RSR carries positive rake bits for Ammco, Kwikway, Snap-on, Accu-Turn, FMC, and Pro-Cut lathes, plus negative rake carbide inserts for Ammco, Hunter, John Bean, and FMC. Matching the insert to your lathe protects finish quality and tool life.
Measure the rotor's center bore across the widest point and compare it to the range listed on the set. Sets are published in inches, so convert millimeters with a calculator or read the bore directly with micrometers for a tighter check on larger rotors.
Most MT-RSR truck sets use a 1" bore, which is the standard on Ammco and comparable machines. If your Ammco lathe or other equipment uses a different arbor size, contact us before ordering an arbor bore brake lathe adapter kit.
